Ministry Update

Hi friends!! – again, apologies for the mega late updates!

Here is a quick look into what life and ministry has been like for us in Nicaragua

This is the town of Palacaguina where we are partnered with the ministry 516 Now doing manual labor, painting a mural, and helping teach at PCA(Palacaguina Christian Academy). Below are a few pictures from our work at the school!

Here are a few pictures from the past two weeks. We had some extra time a few days to explore the town and even go to a baseball game – baseball is very popular here. On one of our trips to town we met an elderly women who lived in a tiny home the government had built her; we were able to buy her some food on several occasions. We also went to a youth group event hosted at a local’s house.

Just this past Saturday a group of seven from our squad decided to hike Volcan Telica just outside of the town León which is 3 hours away. Halfway through the hike just over half of us ran out off water and it was 98 degrees with no shade. After a near death experience hiking nearly 12 miles with no water we explored the town of León. As a result of severe dehydration, among a few other factors, I ended up in the hospital Monday night. Two IVs later I was sent home the next morning – praise God!

Please pray for continued health and recovery for everyone on my squad. It seems to be one health problem after another since we got to this country. From parasites, concussions, and dehydration. But God has still been so good through it all! His grace is never ending and His peace truly does surpass all understanding even when things are hard.

Much love and hugs from Nicaragua!

Lucy 🙂

  1. Lucy you’re a warrior! Being in the hospital in a foreign place away from family is hard and scary. There is an assurance and peace in the midst of tears and frustration in knowing that God is in control and not me. Praying for healing over your whole squad as you continue planting seeds in the beautiful community of Palacalguina. Sending you a big hug from Hawaii!!!
